Nestling on the edge of Castle Hedingham and situated on a small farm, this spacious, renovated, detached Cart Lodge, adjacent to the owner’s Farmhouse, commands far reaching views over a valley towards Hedingham Castle and the village of Castle Hedingham. Guests have their own garden area and access to many public footpaths including a lovely walk past the grounds of Hedingham Castle down to the local village. Castle Hedingham lies in the valley of the River Colne on the ancient road between Colchester, 20 miles, and Cambridge, 30 miles. Places of interest include Hedingham Castle, Colne Valley Steam Railway, Gainsborough’s House, Marks Hall Gardens & Arboretum, Long Melford, Kentwell Hall and the market town of Sudbury. There is a bus service into Colchester from the bus stop in the village which is about a 10-minute walk away, with one bus change en-route.  The village has a local shop and 2 pubs and a restaurant.

The Cart lodge has a ramp to the entrance. Spacious beamed open plan living/dining room with French doors, kitchen area, well stocked with kitchenware, fridge, freezer, microwave and cooker.  Comfortable lounge area and dining table and chairs for 6 people.  Beamed double bedroom with 5ft King size four-poster bed with en-suite shower room and toilet. Single bedroom which can be made into a twin (pull out full size single bed) with en-suite wet room and toilet, there is an additional first floor single bedroom with a double 4ft bed.
